؟ Neymar: Will he or won't he
Neymar is up for playing in the Vicente Calderón stadium this
weekend, although it is not as yet clear if he will form a part of the
starting eleven. The Brazilian has recovered from the bout of
gastroenteritis that prevented him from playing in the Getafe game, but
has since trained normally with the rest of his teammates.
Neymar has been Barça's star-signing this season, with the club
coughing up €57 million to gain his services, plus a string of extra
costs that would make his starting on the bench for such a momentous
game as this unthinkable.
The youngster was signed exactly for this type of matches. However,
if we take a look at his numbers as of late, and the fine performance of
the rest of the attacking players, the idea of starting him out on the
bench isn't as crazy as it first seems.
The Brazilian has hardly played at all this last month. His last full
game was on 17th December against Cartagena in the Cup game. After
that, he took his Christmas holidays in Brazil as he was suspended for
the last game of the year against Getafe.
In his favour, Neymar has already tasted blood in the Calderón.
There, he scored his first for his club, heading in a goal that gave his
team its much-needed 1-1 draw. That very goal gave his side the
SuperCup, as away goals are worth double, and in the Camp Nou, both
sides drew 0-0. Martino has to decide if he will look for a similar
action from the starlet, or start him out bench-warming
